I just had to post this because lets be honest, i always hear Christians thanking God for trivial shit like good grades on exams, a new material item, etc and yet they dont seem to realise that the same God is ignoring millions of prayers for stuff that actually matters like curing children with disease or feeding starving people, but i guess God is just way too busy answering your prayer for that new car you wanted, huh?

There are quite a few logical flaws behind your reasoning, friend.
1. All of the tragedies you listed are a result of sin in the world. If God were to eliminate them He would need to eliminate all sin—this includes yourself, me, and everyone on the face of the earth because we’ve all sinned and been corrupted by the fall. If God gets rid of murderers, why shouldn’t He get rid of people who hate their brother? Jesus says that’s the same as murder. Is God supposed to get rid of adulterers and liars as well? Or are those sins we can “deal with”? Sin is sin, and since we caused sin this is our fault. We don’t get to blame God after having corrupted His perfect world.
2. You stated that you pitied God at one point because Satan was such a pest and God couldn’t get rid of him—haha. I believe in the sovereignty of God, I believe that nothing in this world can or will happen unless God allows it to happen. A lot of Christians cringe at this, but God could destroy Satan and all of us right now if He wanted, but He doesn’t. He could erase sin completely, but like I said earlier, if He does we’re all damned. God doesn’t nitpick with sin, He hates all sin. He’s not going to get rid of cancer, AIDs, rapists, and murderers and leave the liars, cheaters, and adulterers. If you’re going to get on God’s case about sin in the world and demand He do something about all these children, then be prepared to ask for Him to get rid of everything else corrupted by sin, meaning yourself as well.
Also, God says He will use all things for our good and His glory in the end. He doesn’t say all good things, He says all things—that includes sin and disease.
3. I am astounded that you even care about these children. Not that I’m implying or saying that atheists don’t have morals, most of them do, but most of them don’t realize the hypocrisy behind having those morals. Allow me to explain:
You are an evolutionary biologist, correct? I know a thing or two about evolution, I also know a thing or two about natural selection. For those who don’t: natural selection is commonly defined as “the survival of the fittest”, this is not true. Nature does not select for the fittest, it selects against (eliminates) the weak. So, it’s not “survival of the fittest”, it’s more like “elimination of the weak”. What I don’t understand is why, if nature has dictated that some are to die of these diseases, you are so intent on getting in nature’s way. People with HIV are most likely going to pass that on to others (during sex or exposing someone else to their blood) and their children (if they are nursing mothers), so why are we trying to save them? Natural selection says they are weak, so they must die in order for the gene pool to be purified. Cancer, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart problems, etc, the chances of having any of these diseases goes up if you’ve been genetically predisposed to them—so why are we trying to save people who have them if natural selection says they must die?
Do you want to know why you’re intent on getting in nature’s way and saving these people even if it goes against this theory you hold so dear? Because these humans were made in the image and likeness of God and your conscious knows it.
I’m going to challenge you to read this book, you probably won’t but I’m going to challenge you anyway. I want you to read it and when you’re done, if you’re up for it, we can discuss. If you’re not convinced you’ll at least be able to make a lot more intelligent arguments for atheism because what you’ve been presenting lately is a bit ridiculous.
Blessings,Malak

…That was the most epic response I’ve ever read.

I want to cry at the epic. Can I cry at the epic? Am I allowed? I don’t even care. I just will.
